Last upload for now, this was done for my mum's birthday card at the start of August. I used a reference picture for it, and sketched half the owl's face, scanned it and flipped it so I had two mirror image sides (it's only a little bit of cheating, I swear!) then printed it out very lightly as a guide. I then used markers, and white and black charcoal pencils.
I really liked how it came out, I printed it out on glossy paper for the card, and the red eyes stood out well - they were the reason I chose the picture in the first place. The original is above my computer, and looks smoother than this version, though the card looked smoother than this version too. |
