I'm not dead!

Tue Apr 25, 2006, 9:36 PM
I swear, I'm not dead! Honestly! I've just been uninspired, unenthusiastic, and lazy for the last... how many months? ... five months since I last uploaded anything. I've been doing a few things that I don't like the look of, though there are a couple of things that I don't mind. The truth is I feel like my art has taken a backward step over the last couple of months, part of the problem is that I haven't got an attention span long enough to do anything decent.
Oh well, I'm vaguely around deviantArt, though I don't tend to be on long enough to comment/view much. As a result my messages keep building up, and I end up deleting quite a few without reading journals or looking at art.
Anyway, I'm going to upload a couple of things now that I've had on my hard drive for a while.

Extended Vacation

Fri Jan 20, 2006, 2:07 AM
I've been taking a break from doing anything much on DA. I've been browsing a little, and sometimes checking my messages, but I'm not posting anything, commenting, or viewing all my messages. I will read any notes that are sent, so if anyone wanted to make sure I got a message (not that anyone would!) they can send me a note.
I'm also about to go away on vacation with my family for a couple of weeks. We leave in just over a day. I'm going to be spending two weeks skiing in Canada :D Big White and Whistler for a week each. Very exciting :nod:

That's all, just thought I should say something about my long, long absence.

Exams

Sun Nov 6, 2005, 12:06 AM
I have two exams to go, and then I'm all finished for the year! :party: I haven't been around very much the last week or so because I've been studying (well, most of the time at least...). I am incredibly sick of studying, it's not something I'm very good at so I'm almost ready to just give up. Thankfully I'll be done by Tuesday, and then I can just sit back and do nothing without feeling guilty. One good thing about exam time is that I always seem to do more drawings (well, maybe not *good* as such...). Hopefully I'll have something to put up soon, I think I've still got a couple of older things I need to scan and do something with, including my experiments with watercolour (only one of which I really like XD).

Anyway, back to studying psychology (at least it's more interesting than my other subject - political science!)

I have a cold. It really, really sucks.
Didn't go to uni today because of it.

$money$ disappears *really* easily!

Thu Sep 1, 2005, 5:11 AM
Hi there!~ Thought it was about time I got that last journal of my page, considering things have settled down a bit, and things are moving forwards (at least they seem to be). I also found it rather amusing that the only time anyone has ever commented on a journal of mine was when it was following the 'trend'. I'm not complaining or anything, I just think its funny :nod:

I've been spending fa~ar too much money recently. In the last two months and a bit I have bought 10 cds (four in the same day, and two each on three other occasions) totalling around NZ$220 :o and then earlier last week I bought the Cowboy Bebop DVD boxset for just over $100 (much cheaper than I could have paid, but still...), around two or three volumes of manga, and three other books. Altogether that comes to around... $450 :wow: And I'm supposed to be saving my money ^^;
Oh well, I don't actually think I regret buying anything, all the cds I bought were ones I had been wanting, or *really* enjoyed, the DVDs were just something I *had* to get eventually, and books are... well books don't count, in my mind at least!

I've been on a bit of a sketchy, don't-really-do-anything-decent, art kick recently. That and writing. I'll try to remember to scan and upload something soon, there are a few things that are worth showing, even if a couple of them are over a month old ^^;

I finally saw Akira the other weekend! I've been wanting to see it for ages, and so when my friend cancelled our plans for the night, I decided I would have a quiet night to myself and watch a couple of DVDs. So I got Akira and the Cowboy Bebop movie out and watched them with a bag of licorice allsorts :D
Akira was quite different to what I had expected, not that I really know what I expected, but it wasn't that. I really enjoyed it, but it wasn't something I felt I could watch that often. Cowboy Bebop on the other hand, I watched it twice in the three days I had it rented, and would gladly watch it again. There's just something so fun about that series/movie - and now that I own the series, I can watch it whenever I like! Yay!
If anybody has any other *must see* anime (movies preferably - they're easier to rent, and I can't afford to buy any more stuff!), let me know.

Hmm, this turned kinda long, so I'll finish up here. I should go to sleep at any rate... its now just after 1am :yawn:
